It’s time for another mobile game review and this time we‘ll be checking out the 2024 released Forza mobile game Forza Customs.
I played this game for quite a while now and wanted to give you my honest review of the game.
The title “Forza Customs” is what this mobile game is truly about which mainly focuses on two things, vehicle restoration and customization.
No surprise there.
Forza Customs brings players around the world the ability to restore and design a vast amount of vehicles from all over the world from classic muscle cars to highly exotic sports cars right on the palm of their hands.
So without any further ado let’s dive in!
The Gameplay
First things first! Forza Customs is not what you would expect when booting up the game. Since Forza is a widely popular racing title exclusive to the Xbox platform it’s somehow different for this mobile game.
When booting up the game right from my tablet after having the game itself selecting my first car led me to seeing an unsuspected surprise.
In this mobile game, there are no races to be won instead there are only “puzzles” that must be completed when customizing vehicles which seems strange for a mobile game with the name Forza on it.
For every puzzle completed led to progression in seeing how my chosen vehicle was going to turn out.
The gameplay of completing puzzles in Forza Customs is exactly what you would expect when playing a mobile game like Candy Crush.
Once finished I thought maybe I could finally race this beautifully restored vehicle that I had worked on but for this mobile game that wasn‘t the case.
Forza Customs is a ”car-themed “ puzzle game that only focuses on fully restoring vehicles after completing multiple levels of puzzles which is surely disappointing for a mobile game carrying the name Forza on it.
The name of the game is really no huge surprise once you get to play it since it gives away what you’ll actually be doing when booting up the game right on your mobile phone or tablet.
The puzzles do tend to get harder as you progress which seems to make playing the game a bit more interesting.
Once done on fully restoring your chosen vehicle you’ll be able to fully design a new one afterward which can be fun ( in a good way ) for casual players who enjoy a mobile game that has puzzles or at least has anything to do with cars.
Car Customization
As previously mentioned you can customize vehicles in Forza Customs after completing a puzzle level which will afterwards lead to choosing from a few selectable options for building out your dream machine.
You can customize your vehicle‘s cosmetics from top to bottom by applying custom parts to fully restore your chosen junker into a newly built machine that will be soon ready to be admired from your garage.
For every part applied to the vehicle that you are fully restoring you will notice a significant change in your vehicle’s appearance.
More completed puzzles lead to more parts applied to the vehicle that you are fully restoring and on making that vehicle return to its former glory that will be good and ready to be admired right from your garage.
The Rewards
Now for the rewards. The amount of rewards you can earn in Forza Customs is only useful for getting past levels that seem harder to get by every time you complete a puzzle.
These types of rewards also can be used to help you progress further throughout the game so that you can continue building out your wide collection of custom vehicles.
These rewards include
- Gold ( used for having additional chances )
- Points ( used for applying parts )
- Breakers and Boosters ( used for puzzles )
These rewards aren’t difficult at all to earn once you make your way past levels at a rapid pace which does seem to happen every time you progress.
Gold can be used for spending on extra chances every time you’re having trouble completing a level.
Points are used for applying custom parts to the vehicle you are restoring.
Finally, both boosters and breakers are exactly the way they are used in Candy Crush for clearing out those difficult obstacles on every puzzle you complete.
Each reward has its uses that make it easier for you to make progress on building out more custom vehicles right from your garage.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Great for Casual Players
- Available on Android and iOS devices
- No skills needed
Cons
- Puzzles Become Extremely Difficult after Reaching level 100
- Can‘t Do any Races
- Lacks Content
Conclusion
To be honest, having no races at all in this game is a major disappointment to Forza fans and players who enjoy racing games in general.
For players who enjoy games like Candy Crush, Forza Customs will no doubt be any different but for car lovers who enjoy good old-fashioned racing fun this game is a major pass.
Forza Customs might not offer much in terms of content but it definitely puts an interesting twist to playing a car-themed version of Candy Crush right on mobile.
So there you have it! I hope this review helps you decide whether or not you would like to try this game out right on your mobile and if you have any thoughts or questions feel free to comment below and I will reply.
Until then,
Happy Racing! 🙂
Hey Terence, great review of this game. I had seen this one before and considered trying it out because I too love racing games. A huge disappointment with Forza in the name. I’m almost surprised really that is even allowed. I have iOS so really good games like what we are looking for may be better found on the gaming systems. Was hoping for something more for once. I can get into the puzzle games sometimes, so it may be worth check out for the prizes. Thanks for your solid review.
Hi, yes i agree this mobile game is a disappointment and it shouldn’t be called Forza since it doesn’t let us race any cars. On a flip side puzzles can be fun knowing how challenging they can be if your in to that sort of thing,
Let’s hope the next Forza mobile game will be nothing like this one.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I love Forza! I feel like it is one of the most realistic racing games on the market. The graphics are stunning, and the physics engine is incredibly realistic. I find myself getting completely immersed in the game, and I often forget that I’m not actually racing in a real car. I’ve been playing Forza for years, and I’ve never found another racing game that comes close to matching its level of quality and realism.
Hi!
Thats awesome that you love Forza. It’s definitely a wonderful racing series in the entire world with its stunning visuals of vehicles from around the world and bringing immersive to players like yourself. Can’t wait to see what the next Forza game brings.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
