In today’s post we are going to be checking out Rebel Racing and review whether or not you should download it. For, starters, Rebel Racing is a free-to-play mobile racing game that is developed by Hutch games which is available for both android and iOS.
When I was scrolling through a list of available mobile racing games right at the App Store there were only very few mobile racing games that stood out and one of them was Rebel Racing. So, I figured why not provide you with my first impressions of the game and let you on in deciding for yourself that it’s worth downloading.
So without any further ado, let’s get to it.
The Gameplay
Alright, so during the first minute when I have downloaded and installed Rebel Racing onto my iPad I didn’t know what to expect, until I was introduced to the ACTUAL gameplay itself during the tutorials. Learning the basic controls during the tutorials were super easy since there are only two control settings for steering. One was for tilting while the other was for touch to steer.
Knowing how to steer the car that I was using led to making easy-to-make corner turns which resulted in making some cool drifts.
Furthermore, after getting past the basic tutorials of a woman explaining what there is to know about playing the game I went on to check out the rest of the available features within the game at the main menu. One of those features that I had went for FIRST was the shop feature.
Upon clicking past the “shop” feature the game had introduced what there is to know about getting cars which brings us to the next part about playing Rebel Racing and that’s…you guessed it! Buying cars.
Buying Cars
Just like with every mobile racing game that you play when you are first starting out there’s always the option to buy your first car either by going to the dealership or collecting blueprints in which in this case there are 2 ways to do this.
- Spend either your Money or Gold at the dealership
- Spend Car Keys at the Car Imports
Notice how the “second” option provides the exact same method of choice for attaining new cars just like a particular mobile racing game ( CSR Racing 2 ) that we all know uses.
So, if you ever run a little low on money or gold when you want to buy yourself a new car to add to your collection, you can always trade in your keys at the car imports which will come in handy for saving a great sum of in-game currency that you could use later on for your next purchase.
Do note that the minimum amount of keys that you should strive to earn in Rebel Racing is at least a total of 100 keys either for the silver crate or gold crate, once you have reached the minimum key threshold for either the silver or gold crates, you can then use it to win yourself a brand new car to add into your collection.
One thing that you should know about earning keys in Rebel Racing is that it takes A LOT of time to reach the minimum 100 keys threshold.
So, how do you earn more keys in the SHORTEST amount of time?
Well, my tip for you is to login in daily and to complete as much daily test drive and other events as much as you can which will lead up to maximizing key production that you could soon use for attaining your next car at the car imports.
The more you login into the game daily and the more events you complete the more keys you can earn which will then quickly add up over time.
Selling Cars
Did you know that very few mobile racing games give you option to sell cars?
Well, if you didn’t know Rebel Racing is one of the FEWEST mobile racing games available that will provide you this RARE option to sell your unwanted collection of cars for a hefty sum of in-game money, which will do quite nicely for when you’re ever in need of racking up some serious money.
So, if you are looking for any sort of additional ways to farm up some money while you’re playing Rebel Racing on your mobile device, you can always turn to selling any of your unused and unwanted collection of cars that you probably wanting to get rid of in exchange for a hefty amount of money that will really give your in-game earnings a MAJOR boost.
Car Customization
When there are cars there’s customization! Along with attaining NEW cars in Rebel Racing there’s the option that you can PERSONALIZE your ever-growing collection of rides right at the “Customize” tab of the main menu, once you have clicked past the customize tab you will then be given “brief” choices to change the look of your current car collection. These choices include
- Paint colors for the body
- Paint colors for both the rims and the caliber ( small part inside the rims )
- Decals
The amount of choices available for car customization in Rebel Racing is extremely limited which may be disappointing for those expecting to choose a wide selection of customization on a mobile racing game. To be honest, I felt a bit disappointed myself when I discovered that there weren’t many options to choose from as a free-to-play player.
Even though there aren’t many options available for customizing cars, there’s always the “FUN” in changing the look of every car and truck you use in your garage.
Main Hub Races
Lastly, but certainly not least are the races. Well, all of the races available on the main hub that is. Once you have clicked past the “RACE” tab in the main menu the game will present you with a map filled with a variety of events for you to showcase your racing skills.
From the very beginning there won’t be many events available to you since you will be starting out in Tier D which sounds a lot like CSR Racing 2.
Plus, you can compete on various races to progress throughout the game which includes
- Ladder Races
- Easy Money races ( meant for farming up cash )
- Daily Test Drives
- Boss Races
Just like with CSR Racing 2, you can take on bosses once the car of your choice has been upgraded to “easily” take them on. The more races you complete the harder it will get, which will then lead up to you making must-needed upgrades for your cars if you want to further advance your in-game progress.
The further you progress throughout the game the better, which will lead up to more events becoming available to you for making the most out of your time playing Rebel Racing.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- It’s Free to Play
- Controls are easy to learn
- Great for casual play
- Available on Android and iOS
Cons
- Extremely limited Car Customization
- Most cars are only attainable at the Car Imports
Conclusion
Based off my experience in playing Rebel Racing I can surely tell you that this mobile racing game is well worth downloading.
Why you might ask?
Well, it’s because you can race a variety of vehicles which include going off-roading in third person. Plus, you can drift around tracks with an ease of a button or with the tilt of your mobile device.
And Finally, it’s free to play for both iOS and Android users which doesn’t require much skill to master racing various cars and trucks no matter what level you are on.
Even though Rebel Racing does have limitations for car customization and for buying cars apart from winning them in at the car imports, it is still overall a cool and fun to play mobile racing game that might even someday compete against CSR Racing 2.
Well, that’s about all for this review and if you have any thoughts of questions about the game or this post feel free to leave your comments below and I will reply.
Until then,
Happy Racing! 🙂
Hay thanks for an enlightening post about Rebel racing.
now I can’t say I’ve played many car games on my mobile, although I do have a dragon game that I am overly obsessed about. I did however used to play ‘need for speed’ on xbox in my teens. Which I definitely enjoyed!
would you say that you get the same kind of thrill on your phone playing this as you would a larger console?
Thanks Tigan
Hi Tigan,
Thanks for stopping by!
Yes, I do get the same feeling of thrill when I play specific games on mobile as I do on console. Oh, the dragon game is a wonderful game of choice to play even though I haven’t played it yet. Although console games tend to be a lot more thrilling than mobile games they both have a variety of games that are incredibly fun to play.
Thank you so much for this review over Rebel Racing. This is actually a pretty fun game. I love how easy it is to understand the controls. To be honest, the limited customization is not that big of a deal. It would be nice, but the game offers so much more that it’s a fair trade-off.
Hi Jessie!
Yes, Rebel Racing is a fun game to play. I agree with you that limited customization is definitely no big deal at all since it’s just a mobile game. Just the overall experience of how easy it is to play is what truly matters.
Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
